Our DOD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Senior Mechanical Engineer position that just opened in Canonsburg, PA. In this role you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, developing, demonstrating, producing, assembling, testing, and delivering torpedo SONAR arrays and electronic assemblies. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar and have 2+ years of job-related experience. You must also be a US Citizen.

Location: Canonsburg, PA
Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Contract: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct/permanent
Pay: $47.14/hour
Schedule: Hybrid

As an Advanced Mechanical Engineer for the Torpedo Systems Group (TSG), you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, developing, demonstrating, producing, assembling, testing, and delivering torpedo SONAR arrays and electronic assemblies.

  • Designing and analyzing components and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Creating and maintaining mechanical solid models and drawings using SolidWorks
  • Creating and managing bills of material (BOM) within Progeny's data management systems
  • Developing fixtures and equipment to support testing and production efforts
  • Developing and presenting PowerPoint slides documenting design progress
  • Participating in various technical and program meetings on a weekly basis
  • Developing technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer team.
What sets you apart:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.
  • Strong proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
  • Collaborative, creative thinker with experience leading complex projects
  • Strong communication skills with ability to write technical papers and proposals
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
