Description
Strategic Responsibility:
Responsible for extended credit to assigned accounts and/or sales channels and makes the necessary collection efforts to ensure timely and accurate payment on those accounts while maintaining a positive relationship with those customers.
Job Description:
Primary responsibility to manage the daily collection communications including phone calls, emails and letters with customers (incoming and outgoing.
Manages collection efforts of past due balances on assigned customer accounts or channels, including reconciliation of accounts and write off of uncollectible balances.
Credit approval of stopped orders due to either past due issues or exceeding credit limit.
Account maintenance (which may include updating address and contact information, request updated credit applications, request modification of credit limit and keeping notes of activity in the company's ERP system).
Reconciliation of unidentified payments, identification of unauthorized deductions, educating and training customers to interpret our paperwork, and reprinting documents (invoices, credit memos, statements) to send to customers.
Utilize AR Aging Report to make recommendations to Manager for accounts to send to letter or full collections.
Report generation including new account review, customer balances, and letter generation.
Collection and reconciliation of all major customer accounts.
Daily credit card reconciliation.
Displays a cheerful disposition in working on projects outside the typical workflow of this position. Effectively helps others in special projects.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
Formal Education: Associates degree with accounting coursework preferred.
Experience: 2-4 years of Credit and Collection experience; Accounting experience and/or experience with churches or bookstores highly desired.
SpecializedKnowledge/Certification: Must have basic accounting knowledge. Computer experience (Windows, Word, Excel) required. Will work with JD Edwards program.
Equipment Knowledge: PC,Telephone, Fax, Calculator
