Patient Access Representative-Lab Admingeneral-Full Time

Job Summary: Patient Access Representative Patient Access Representatives facilitate a seamless patient experience, ensuring accurate data entry and efficient access to hospital services. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in establishing encounters for patients, verifying insurance eligibility, and collecting patient portions. You will also communicate with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and insurance companies to ensure a smooth and efficient experience. Key Responsibilities: Meet expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Accurately input all required data elements for scheduling and registration. Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations for services rendered. Calculate and collect the estimated patient portion based on benefits and contract reimbursement. Perform financial assessment for appropriate program assistance. Communicate the purpose of and obtain patient/legal guardian signatures on all necessary hospital documents. Represent the Patient Access department in a professional, courteous manner at all times. Assist the hospital in the event of an internal or external disaster. Support the flexible needs of the department to accommodate patient volume in all areas of the hospital. Support the department in achieving established performance targets. Complete required training as needed and as mandated. Maintain the team discipline of following all elements of established standard processes. Work with HPWT to maintain an efficient, clean, and orderly workplace. Coordinate, communicate, and assist in monitoring workflow and work tasks necessary to manage fluctuating volumes. Provide feedback to the team to help identify educational needs and mediation needs. Demonstrate competence to perform assigned responsibilities in a manner that meets the population-specific and developmental needs of the members served by the department. Take personal responsibility to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards as promulgated by state and federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities. Perform all duties in a manner that protects the confidentiality of patients and does not solicit or disclose any confidential information unless it is necessary in the performance of assigned job duties. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent years of experience required. 1 – 3 years of experience preferred. Position Requirements: This is a full-time position with a TBD work schedule.
