About the Team: The Business Development Representative has the North America regional responsibility for Commercial Vehicle Driveline systems which includes automatic transmissions, ePowertrain systems, ePowertrain components and independent front suspension for OEMs and NACs manufacturing HD pickup Truck (class 3 -6) and Truck (class 4 - 8), as well as School and City buses (class 7 - 8).

  • Maintain existing and establish new, successful relationships with customers and key decision-makers seeking out additional driveline businesses opportunities.
  • Business Developer is responsible for presenting ZF new technologies in detail.
  • Conduct market analysis (North America market map) to guide business development strategies and product competitive analysis, identifying and evaluating competitive products.
  • Monitor, research, and predict customer needs.
  • Identify new business opportunities and implement new strategies consistent with business unit short- & long-term goals. Examine risks and potentials for the business opportunities.
  • Support North America sales, fleet sales, and marketing activities when necessary.
  • Support sales organization by providing sales data, market trends, account analyses, and new product information.
  • Initiate and support existing end customer / fleet activities to promote market pressure accelerating product releases and sales.
  • Coordinate, prepare and execute customer meetings and events.
  • Attend industry functions, including conferences and association events, and contribute information and feedback on upcoming market trends.
  • Build market position by locating, developing, defining, and closing business relationships. Discover and explore business opportunities.
*Ability to frequently travel domestically, up to 50% of the time is required

Your profile as a Business Development Representative:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry or North America Commercial Vehicle / Heavy Duty pickup truck market
  • Demonstrated presentation, organizational, and communication skills. Strong, confident public speaking skills are critical.
  • Experience with discreet customer account management and interdisciplinary project management
  • Experience with North America OEM and end-customer sales
  • Professional experience in drivetrain technology products and sales know-how (conventional transmission and ePowertrain)
