Position OverviewEfficiently operates their assigned ready-mix plant and all related equipment and maintains it in proper and safe working condition.Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)Operates the assigned plant with absolute accuracy and in full compliance with customers' orders and projects' specifications.Primary batch person.Accurately reads, interprets, and uses projects' specifications, customers' orders, and mix designs.Maintains raw materials inventory at proper levels to insure uninterrupted production. Orders materials as directed in accordance with the Company's Purchasing Policy.Services and maintains the plant and all associated equipment in proper and safe working order.Accurately completes all documentation and reports, and forwards documents to the Business Office.Keeps site properly maintained, mowed, snow removed, vehicles properly parked, materials correctly stored, debris disposed, storm and washout water controlled, hazardous materials properly stored or disposed.Conducts basic IDOT concrete tests.Assists production as directed, including driving mixer or material trucks, or operating equipment.Works effectively under time and scheduling deadlines.Consistently produces an efficient, accurate work product.Works proficiently in a team organization.Benefits OfferedComprehensive medical, dental, disability, and life insurance programs.Group retirement savings program.Accrual Based PTO - Start earning PTO on your first dayPaid Holidays RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Their driving record does not cause an adverse insurance risk rating or premium increase.Knowledge/Skill RequirementsAbility to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.Must be proficient at reading, understanding, and speaking the English language.Ability to read, write, and accurately perform basic mathematical functions including adding, subtracting, multiplication and division.Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.Must possess knowledge of Company policies and procedures, including safety.Must consistently produce and efficient, accurate work product.Demonstrable knowledge of the plant's, equipment's, and truck's operating characteristics, capabilities, maintenance requirements, and mechanical features.Demonstrable knowledge of concrete materials' properties, concrete's performance and properties, and mix designs.Must have a thorough knowledge and familiarity with personal computers.Work RequirementsMust be at least 18 years in age or older.Must pass post-offer employment drug testing, medical exams, and physical agilities testing.Must pass D.O.T. required physical.Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and/or supervisors with other duties as required.Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.Must have a personal telephone or cell phone.Must possess a safe working record, and not have any lost-time work accidents in the previous 6-months.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
