Your Role at Cabot:

Cabot is seeking a Plant Safety and Health Manager to join the Pampa, TX team. The ideal candidate will provide leadership and overall direction to the plant in the Safety and Health (S&H) function. They will lead and facilitate the development and implementation of programs and procedures that continuously increase overall awareness in safety and health to eliminate undesired incidents at the site. This person will also work with the local management team to assure local compliance with all applicable plant, company, and governmental policies, procedures, regulations, and legislation. Lastly, this candidate will provide support to the Plant Management Team and Regional / Corporate SH&E to ensure facility safety and health concerns are identified and managed.

How You Will Make an Impact:
  • Manage the facility EH&S training programs to ensure company and regulatory compliance requirements are met and the individual training topics are kept current.
  • Generate and implement new S&H procedures and associated training material as the need arises. Maintain existing facility S&H procedures and update as necessary when new company and/or regulatory requirements are issued.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Long-Range Plans (LRPs), Continuous Improvement Plans (CIPs), Safety Improvement Plans (SIP), global standards, budget, and other corporate efforts.
  • Establish and monitor site safety and health goals and objectives based on trending data from reported safety incidents and observations, plant safety walkthrough inspections, employee suggestions, Site Safety Team recommendations, along with global and regional goals.
  • Oversee the facility security program.
  • Plan, Implement, and manage the site Industrial Hygiene program.
  • Maintain site portable gas meters and portable supplied air respirator filtration units.
  • Maintain relations with local emergency services and schedule periodic site visits.
  • Lead and facilitate the development and implementation of facility safety and health improvement plans to enhance compliance and improve safety and health performance.
  • Monitor and report progress toward achieving site goals and objectives using established safety and health metrics.
  • Manage the plant Intelex Incident Reporting System for identifying, investigating, recording, and reporting undesired safety and health/environmental events. Ensure corrective actions are taken to fulfill regulatory compliance.
  • Manage and administer the site contractor training program.
  • Manage the contractor approval process through ISNetworld for the site.
  • Provide regular communication to all levels of management regarding safety and health issues and performance to ensure that relevant issues are quickly and appropriately addressed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the plant and the larger Cabot Safety & Health Organization.
  • Effectively manage the local S&H team
What You Will Bring to Cabot:
  • Bachelor/University degree in engineering, safety, health or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years experience in relevant area of specialization.
  • Professional S&H certification preferred.
  • Presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills with external and internal stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills (i.e., team building)
  • Demonstrated technical competence in specialty area
  • Planning, organization and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
