As a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products by designing and implementing effective testing strategies, with the goal of making an impact across the federal government. Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and user stories within an Agile framework. Design comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases based on user stories and technical specifications. Execute manual and automated tests to identify defects, verify fixes, and validate new features and enhancements. Develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard testing tools and frameworks. Perform thorough regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains intact with each new software release. Investigate and report software defects, track their status, and work with the development team to resolve issues in a timely manner. Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, providing valuable input on quality-related aspects. Collaborate with developers to promote the importance of testability, code quality, and continuous integration in the development process. Identify opportunities to optimize testing processes, increase efficiency, and enhance overall software quality. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of testing environments and data sets that accurately represent real-world usage scenarios. Provide accurate and timely feedback on the quality of software releases to assist in making informed release decisions. What you’ll need to succeed:

At least 5 years of experience as a QA Engineer or similar role, with a solid understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes. Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and experience working within Agile development teams. Proficiency in designing and executing manual and automated test cases for web and mobile applications. Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG). Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide detailed bug reports. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality results within established timelines. A proactive attitude towards learning and staying updated with industry trends and best practices in QA and software development.
