An investment bank in New York City is actively seeking an experienced Tax Associate for a promising Senior-level position with their staff. In this role, the Senior Tax Associate will be responsible for the preparation of corporate and partnership tax returns and work papers.
Responsibilities:

The Senior Tax Associate will:

  • Prepare and review corporate and partnership Federal, State, and Local tax returns
  • Gather underlying data and prepare detailed schedules in conjunction with our external tax advisors as part of the quarterly tax provision and year-end tax compliance process
  • Prepare and review US and foreign income tax provisions on a quarterly basis
  • Prepare corporate and partnership tax estimate calculations
  • Assist the Tax Department and external tax advisors on federal, state, and local tax audits
  • Review and analyze tax notices
  • Maintain tax calendar and compliance filing matrix
  • Prepare and review indirect tax filings, including sales and use, commercial rent returns
  • Assist the Tax Department with tax compliance automation and systems implementation initiatives to streamline the tax reporting process
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of work experience in Corporate and Partnership Tax
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Tax Compliance software (Go-System, Corptax, Vertex, SuperForm)
  • Proven computer skills (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Microsoft Teams, Zoom)
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized

Desired Skills:

  • Masters Degree in Taxation
  • CPA
  • Public accounting background
