About the Position
Balboa United is an industry leader in nephrology for Southern California. With 18 clinic offices and 88 dialysis clinics throughout San Diego, Imperial, and Orange Counties, Balboa has evolved with the changing needs of our community, driven by our mission to improve kidney care. We are hiring a talented Senior Staff Accountant to join our amazing, award-winning team and help us manage the finance and accounting of 20+ companies. Total compensation package:
$80-90,000k annually, depending on experience
Bonus – up to 15% of salary paid annually
Retirement (after the standard waiting period)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports
Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements
Focus on tax compliance, state business registration, contract review, and tax filing
Play a vital part in the company's financial management which includes all account reconciliations, reporting to necessary parties, and assist with audits
Assist in the preparation of the annual forecast and budget while preparing, comparing, and analyzing monthly Budget vs Actual financial statements
Assist in the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries, general account analysis, account reconciliations, and maintain balance sheet schedules
Identify and report intercompany elimination entries to compile the Consolidated Financial Statements
Manage and utilize various accounting software solutions such as Envi, Bill.com, US Bank SinglePoint portal, Clinical Conductor, Certify, LeaseCrunch, etc
Maintain, analyze, and report Cash Flow Report to ensure the financial viability of the company
Record daily cash activity and accounts payable functions as required
Perform general accounting and administrative duties upon request
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or professional certificate in accounting or related field
3+ years in a similar role
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Extensive experience in general ledger and bank account reconciliations
Proficient in Microsoft Office & Quickbooks Online
Experience working with intercompany transactions and reconciliation in preparation for audit
Internal drive to create efficiencies and foster a culture of constant improvement
Demonstrated ability to support all other departments within the company and coordinate training and information sessions if necessary

Physical Demands
Physical requirements may vary slightly and should be reviewed with your manger. In general, this position requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted; ability to stand for extended periods of time and to perform repetitive stooping, walking, stretching, reaching and some sitting; ability to use full range of body motions required to lift patients, wear a lead apron, and lift and move supplies.
Job required tasks routinely involve a potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, tissues or potential spills or splashes. Use of appropriate personal protection measures is required for every healthcare provider in these positions. Require to routinely use standard office equipment such as laptop, computer, mouse, and photocopier.
About Balboa United
Beginning in 1973, Balboa has grown from two physicians to a comprehensive nephrology team of 52 board certified physicians and 8 advanced practitioners. On January 1, 2018, Balboa Nephrology Medical Group (BNMG) launched Balboa United, a full-service medical practice management services organization. From one small office, BNMG now has 24 clinical offices throughout San Diego, Imperial, Orange and Riverside counties. In addition to office and hospital-based patient care, Balboa physicians manage the dialysis treatments of approximately 4,500 patients at 88 dialysis centers and conduct Nephrology based clinical research at 6 centers throughout Imperial and San Diego counties (California Institute of Renal Research).
