Lead Cook - The Callaway House Austin | Austin, Texas We are seeking a Lead Cook at The Callaway House, the nations premier full-service freshman private UT dorm serving students at The University of Texas. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing jobs and stations as assigned and preparation of all menu items as directed by the Kitchen Manager. You will assist the Kitchen Manager in menu item preparation, inventory, receiving, and storage of all food and supply products. The Lead Cook role includes more responsibility in all areas including plating and assisting with the supervision of the other Cooks when on duty.

**Essential Duties** (other duties may be assigned)**:**

* Preparation of menu items and foods needed as directed by management

* Assists in the supervision of cooks

* Coordinates inventory control and inform Kitchen Manager as necessary

* Performs sanitation and food service cleaning as required

* Fills in for unattended positions as needed

* Coordinates with all caf employees to ensure all foods are delivered in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. Motivates and directs other cooks as needed on a shift basis in the accurate, timely, and quality oriented cooking of all menu items

* Performs other tasks and duties required to successfully and efficiently operate Food

**To be successful in this position, you should have:**

* A High School diploma or equivalent preferred

* Minimum of three years experience as a cook in an institutional kitchen.

* Within first week of employment, a food handlers certification card with the local regulatory agency.

* The ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities; make simple estimates relative to required food quantities, and knowledge of various types of dishes.
