Requirements

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Minimum of two years customer service experience is required. Medical office or other professional office experience is preferred.

Other Requirements:
  1. Current CPR certificate, or ability to become certified within the first 90 days of employment.
Knowledge:
  1. Basic computer operations and EMR (Athena experience preferred, but not required).
  2. Knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
  3. Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques.
Skills:
  1. Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills, including friendliness, empathy, patience, kindness, politeness and helpfulness.
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  4. Skill in communicating and working with all coworkers and leadership collaboratively.
Abilities:
  1. Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a strong sense of focus and attention to customer service and administrative tasks such as insurance verification, scheduling appointments, and customer service concerns.
  2. Ability and willingness to learn, adapt, and help others.
  3. Ability to communicate calmly and clearly with patients and families in all circumstances including when they are ill or have an emergency.
  4. Ability to analyze situations and respond appropriately.
  5. Strong attention to detail.

Work Environment: Medical office settings. Possible exposure to communicable diseases (including COVID-19), biohazards, and other conditions are common in clinical settings.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Variety of walking, standing, sitting, bending, twisting, and reaching. Occasional need to lift/carry/move up to 25 pounds of equipment. Management of high-paced patient flow and related stressors.
