As a Category Leader at DCLI, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies and driving relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. In this role, you will lead RFI/RFP processes, negotiate with suppliers, leverage spend, and manage supplier relationships. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop category strategies, create optimal pricing structures, and ensure competitiveness. This role will work closely with members of the procurement team on various projects and initiatives across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads in the preparation of all RFQ documents, including notice and instructions to bidders, specifications, and forms of proposal.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive sourcing strategies that align with business objectives and optimize spend
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Lead negotiations to secure the best terms, pricing, and conditions.
  • Lead the Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes to identify and select the best suppliers with the ability to negotiate contracts
  • Experience analyzing spend data to identify opportunities for cost savings and leverage purchasing power to achieve favorable terms.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including M/R, operations, logistics, and finance, to develop category strategies and ensure competitiveness.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain and service disruptions, supplier performance, and market changes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration along with 3+ years of purchasing, strategic sourcing, or category management experience, preferably in manufacturing or logistics, are required
  • Proven track record of developing and executing category strategies that deliver cost savings and value
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of purchasing operations
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills to manage suppliers to ensure quality material, best price, and timely delivery

  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
  • Experience negotiating contracts terms and conditions
  • Strong MS Office skills - with above average experience working in excel analyzing large sets of data
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
