Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Prepare and cook meals in compliance with the 6-week cycle menu and other applicable local, state, and federal standards
  • Ensure compliance with food preparation and applicable sanitation standards and regulations
  • Maintain all food item receipts, menu production records and meal counts
  • Supervise and monitor the Cook Aide(s) and volunteers
  • Knowledge and ability to safely operate kitchen and food preparation equipment and tools
  • Maintain and ensure adequate inventory of kitchen supplies, food and equipment
  • Follow food budget guidelines, including local and vendor food purchasing and price comparisons
  • Ability to measure ingredients, follow recipes, and perform basic mathematical functions
  • Follow dietary guidelines and individualized meal plans
  • Coordinate food delivery to classrooms
  • Assist Teachers with the preparation of food and nutritional lessons and activities
  • Implement center emergency procedures
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Must have organizational skills and ability to maintain records
  • Maintain standards of confidentiality of CC Idaho clients and records
  • Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with CC Idaho policies, procedures, and safety practices
Qualifications

Required
  • Must obtain Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hire
  • One year experience in a commercial kitchen and/or school/childcare kitchen setting
  • Current driver's license and proof of auto insurance
  • Must pass physical examination and background checks, including state day care clearance
  • Must obtain clearance of Tuberculosis
  • Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification
Preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in both English/Spanish in a business setting
  • Basic computer skills
