The Automation Controls Engineer will play a pivotal role in the development, testing, and debugging of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) programs for automated equipment. This role demands a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards.

Focus:

  • Investigate and resolve issues associated with assembly automation, workstations, robotics, and automated equipment.
  • Develop, test, and debug PLC and HMI programs to ensure reliability and safety in automation equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and process issues, providing timely resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee successful customer installations, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Maintain adherence to quality and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in machine controls and mechanical aptitude.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist with other duties as assigned.

Skill Set:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent required.
  • 4-6 years of experience in manufacturing, controls engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Adherence to proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols.
  • Ability to read and edit electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Experience with robotics, machining, assembly lines, and conveyors preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license.
