About the Job:
The HIM Specialist performs general administrative duties as directed that may include but is not limited to assembly and analysis, scanning, assisting with transcription processing, release of information, filing, data entry, pulling and delivery of charts, answering phone calls, and assisting visitors and physicians. Perform record analysis, enters deficiencies into the system and signs records to appropriate clinical staff for completion.
What Youll Do:
- Compiles, verifies, types, and files medical records according to established standards (Joint Commission and department of health) for medical record completion
- Perform analysis for encounter deficiencies and verifies correct assignment to providers
- Operates computer to enter and retrieve data and type correspondence and reports
- Reviews medical records for completeness, and files records in filing system
- Prep, scan and indexes all scanned records within benchmarked parameters
- Reviews scanned documents for accuracy, legibility, and appropriate identification. EPN/EPS submitted documentation according to procedure
- Assists visitors and physicians, and answers phone as needed

- High School Diploma or Equivalent, Required
- One (1) year in business/medical office experience in a busy, complex environment, Preferred
