JobDescription

The Kitchen Supervisor willassist the Kitchen Manager in day-to-day operations. An individual in thisposition is expected to make daily decisions that drive guest satisfaction,team engagement, and make sound financial decisions for the restaurant. Anindividual in this position will have the ability to work various stations asneeded.

The Kitchen Supervisor willassist with:
  • Ensure that every item is preparedsafely, efficiently and to the highest possible standard.
  • Lead a culinary team, effectivelydelegate responsibilities, maximize productivity, set and maintain highstandards, and build strong relationships with team members, vendors andguests.
  • Training and development of newteam members
  • General day-to-day operationaltasks, such as scheduling and opening and closing responsibilities
  • Overseeing team members andreinforcing Tortazo's mission and core values
In addition, the Lead Line Cookmust ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety,occupational safety, and employment guidelines. We are seeking an individualwho has experience in the food service industry and can work in a fast-pacedenvironment. Some ofthe responsibilities include:
  • Maintain clean, safe work stationsthroughout the shift and break down at the end of the shift
  • Communicate to the culinarymanager and team for inventory, prep and walk-in needs. Ensuring we are alwaysstocked with food.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge onMexican cuisine and execute different menu items seasonally
  • Receiving and putting away ordersand help with various kitchen tasks
  • Ability to interact with teammembers and customers to successfully problem solve.
JobQualifications:
  • Proficiency in knife skills andkitchen equipment while maintaining a clean and safe restaurant
  • Proven track record of beingdependable, self-motivated and organized
  • Ability to work quickly whilemaintaining safety standards and procedures
  • Ability to work early morninghours or late-night hours, including weekends
  • Training & certificationsbased on city/state requirements
PhysicalFunctions:
  • Abilityto stand/walk an extended period of time per day
  • Abilityto lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willfrequently reach, bend, stoop, carry, and key in data
  • Work inboth warm and cool environments
  • Abilityto function in a high level of noise from music, guests, and kitchenenvironment
  • Must beable to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy,seafood and shellfish
