PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB:
Manages the sourcing, procuring, scheduling of MRO materials, raw materials, purchased parts necessary to support the production of finished goods and factory maintenance.Participates/manages strategic relationships with designated suppliers.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Select and qualify suppliers for designated items. Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing and payment terms within Corporate guidelines
Establish new supplier contacts and develop relationships
Set-up crib part numbers, enter costs and develop data queries in SAP.Coordinate MRO activities with other Coleman locations.
Issue purchase orders and schedule delivery of parts and raw materials consistent with in-process inventory objectives and production schedules.Expedite or delay deliveries as required.
Setup and maintain Material Master, Supplier Information records and Source lists in SAP to make sure that the correct requirement are being driven to the correct source of supply.
Act as liaison between suppliers and internal groups (Accounts Payable, Quality, Production, Engineering, etc)
Act as liaison for Sauk Rapids, Wichita and New Braunfels with Finance to keep the MRO PPV cleared.
Assist in determining annual plan costs which drive finished goods pricing
Research sources for alternate material and suppliers to ensure a reliable supply of materials
Issue purchase orders for sample products, tooling and other discretionary purchases as required.
Evaluate existing suppliers through the Coleman scorecard and participate in regular review meetings with designated suppliers.
Administrate, monitor, train and perform Valuation of Coleman MRO parts.
Monitor, train and perform key MRO record keeping and SAP Purchasing duties for Stearns.
Visit supplier sites to assess ability to provide consistent supply.Facilitate quality audits as appropriate.
Participate on Jarden Synergy Teams, as appropriate
Support new product development and start-ups
Support, participate on or lead Six Sigma/5S, CI and Safety teams, as appropriate
Contribute to defined cost savings objectives, both departmental and Coleman corporate wide initiatives.
Analyze reports to ensure inventory and cost variance goals are being met
Interface with internal customers and external suppliers. Represent Coleman in a professional manner at all levels
Requires regular attendance to perform essential elements as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work
Performs such individual assignments as directed by management
Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Maintain stocking levels, min/max order quantities and accurate inventory in stocking locations for crib items.
Urgently communicate any issues to appropriate stakeholders, i.e. production management, maintenance department, Purchasing Manager, etc.
Audit crib material usages, min/max levels and recommend/coordinate/implement changes as required on crib items.
Perform weekly cycle counts on MRO Crib Materials set up in SAP.
Consolidate supply base where appropriate to reduce management time and overall processing costs.
Ensure Jarden Corporate suppliers are utilized to the fullest extent.Distribute the preferred supplier list to others as required.
Review any non-conforming parts with the Quality Department and ensure current and future issues are satisfactorily resolved.
Analyze reports and explain reasons for variances in cost and inventory levels, be able to run these reports on a periodic basis. Maintain a neutral position of PPV in the crib.
Maintain training documents and provide training to crib end users, as needed
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business; master’s degree a plus.
CPSM and/or CPIM, desirable.
Prefer 2 years experience in an office environment.
Demonstrated business analysis and presentation skills
Proven ability to work in a team environment
Ability to balance multiple projects
Demonstrated solid analytical and math skills.Detail oriented and accurate.
