Job Summary
Alaska Overview
ConocoPhillips is Alaska's largest crude oil producer and largest owner of exploration leases, with approximately 1.2 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2022. The company produced an average of 200 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2022. ConocoPhillips has major ownership interests in two of North America's largest legacy conventional oil fields, both located on Alaska's North Slope: Kuparuk, which the company operates, and Prudhoe Bay. Additionally, ConocoPhillips operates several fields on the Western North Slope. The company has an ownership interest in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and owns/operates the Polar Tankers fleet.

Description
The Analytics Engineer is responsible for aiding in the development of a data driven culture and driving the digital transformation within the Wells Organization. Successful candidate will work closely with the Digital Innovation Supervisor, Wells staff, and data science and IT resources to drive implementation of data analytics tools and/or software, and champion streamlined workflows. They will also work closely with the Well Support Center to ensure data, tools, and analysis are available and accessible to aid in data-driven decision making and performance measurement and improvement.

Job Description

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Implement and support the digital innovation strategy for the Alaska Wells organization
  • Work with the Well Support Center (WSC) and technical Subject Matter Experts to ensure data capture and archiving is sufficient for future organization needs, performance measuring and tracking
  • Collaborate with the Global Analytics, Performance, and Standards (APS) group to leverage technology quickly and strive for global consistency
  • Coordinate with Alaska Advanced Analytics to bring quick-win data science projects to life, optimize workflows and daily tasks, and help Wells on its journey to being a data driven function
  • Manage Alaska Wells analytics and automation portfolio health by monitoring utilization, performing maintenance, and tracking value
  • Identify and address data gaps to ensure data quality for real time operations, historic project analysis, and future needs of the business
  • Engage with Wells leaders and individual contributors to ensure smooth rollout of technology
  • Enhance analytics capabilities by upskilling staff, identifying analytics champions, and developing citizen data scientists
Basic/Required:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering or foreign equivalent
  • 3+ years experience in upstream oil and gas
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Power Platforms (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps)
  • Intermediate with Microsoft 0365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word
Preferred:
  • 5+ years experience in upstream oil & gas
  • 1+ years experience in Spotfire, Power BI, or other data visualization tools
  • 1+ years experience with Python, SQL, M, or other code
  • 1+ years of direct Wells experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in facilitation and decision quality.
