Job Description
The Distributed Energy Services Section of Energy Services is seeking a candidate that is energetic and highly organized, for the Customer Project Manager position.The successful candidates must have project management experience, overhead and/or underground distribution systems experience; this is inclusive of design, installation, analysis, coordination, negotiation, and direction. Must be highly motivated, goal oriented, extremely customer-focused, and demonstrate a strong Commitment to Excellence. Candidates must have strong written and oral communication skills. Candidates must be able to exercise independent judgment, and possess the ability to render sound business decisions. Must be able to successfully build business relationships. Must be flexible, detailed oriented, and should be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have working knowledge of the Company's rates schedule and tariffs. Candidates must have a High School diploma/GED with five to seven (5-7) years of relevant work experience. A college degree, preferably in engineering, with three to five (3-5) years of relevant work experience. Relevant work experience includes working with Electric or Gas service installations, Distributed Generation projects, Electric Vehicle projects or other complex projects and project management. Candidates need to have computer knowledge inclusive of CIS, CPMS and MS office programs such as Visions.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
Act as the Company's Customer Project Manager by directing and monitoring the progress of Company and Customer work within the Distributed Energy Resources process as well as support and lead Distributed Energy Resources projects.
Serve as overall project coordinators and principal customer liaisons in cases involving new or additional service to support Distributed Energy Resources.
Negotiate and arrange service dates with customers
Monitor and control project costs and take corrective action to minimize deviations
Provide status reports on budget and schedule as needed an elevate concerns to the proper level of authority.
Determine, in consultation with the customer and their consultants, the available rate options, applicable service provisions, riders and general rules surrounding the customers request.
Responsible for establishing appropriate proper billing rates and authorize the preparation of appropriate billing and/or adjustments in accordance with Company policy.
Perform field inspections, confirm receipt of required certificates and authorize meter installations for both gas and electric services as well as successful interconnection of Distributed Energy Resources technologies.
Required to negotiate with contractors, governmental authorities and customers as required.
Coordinate with Distribution, Regional Engineering and other internal groups (equipment group for transformer work, services, construction management, etc.), to ensure projects stay on schedule.
Interface with the REV Team to stay abreast of all regulatory/policy changes.
Review customers proposed installation schematics to ensure feasibility as well as compare installation to relevant company specifications
Review engineered layouts to ensure construction feasibility and work with internal/external groups to execute construction
Will execute, inspect and accept the work according to the design in timely fashion.
Understand different Distributed Energy Resources (DER) technologies and process all DER projects in accordance with the NYS SIR timelines
Will review plates, wiring diagrams, vault drawings and other Company information and identify any challenges to a customer proposing distributed generation technologies
Supervisory experience preferred
Perform other tasks and assignment as required.
Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
