The Emergency Room Patient Care Supervisor
is responsible for assisting the Manager/Director with department operations. This nursing leadership includes supervision of personnel and projects as delegated. About our Emergency Department:
19 beds in the main section and 7 in section two.
Provides care to 30,000 patients annually, average 80 daily.
50% of patients are mental health.
Multidisciplinary approach to all emergencies.
Care delivery team: Board Certified/Eligible ED physicians, RNs, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, Psych Associates, 4-5 patients per RN.

Responsibilities Job Description
Job Expectations:
Partners withManager/Directorto supervise/manageday-to-dayor shift-to-shiftoperations to ensure support of themission,vision, values andgoalsof the organization.
Assists Manager/Directorto plan, manage, coordinateand evaluatepatient care activitiesincludingstaffing,resource management, qualityand safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management.
Prioritizes assignments to assure timely, productive, and efficient use of resources.
Assists NM to manageequipment inventory and supply management within operational budget.
Collaborates with Nursing, Provider leadership and other team members to implement and evaluate standards of practice.
Collects and analyzes quality data and uses process improvement methodology to insure deliver of safe and quality patient care.
Assists with department change and acts a change agent in of system change, procedure change and process changes.
Demonstrates skills/abilities in provision of patient care
Ensures unit protocols, benchmarks, and hospital procedures are initiated appropriately.
AssistsManager/Directorto develop, implement, monitor and evaluate thequality improvementinitiatives.
AssistsManager/Directorwithhuman resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations.
Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Advocates for patient, family and staff needs.
Drivesimprovementactivitiesthat promotepatient centered care andpositive customer experience.
AssistsManager/Directorto ensurestaff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency.
Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Required
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. If Master’s degree is in nursing or healthcare, Bachelor’s degree in other area of study will be accepted.
Experience
· Two years nursing experience, at least one of which in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role. Knowledge of patient population served in area of responsibility.
License/Certification/Registration
· Licensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire.
· BLS certification
Preferred
Education
· Master’s degree in nursing, health care administration, business administration or related field.
Experience
· Three years or more nursing experience preferred.
License/Certification/Registration
· ANCC or AONL Certification
