Job DescriptionREGIONAL FACILITIES MANAGERSummary Reports to: A facilities professional who will take great pride in the appearance of the buildings. As our Assistant to the Director of Facilities and Equipment, overseeing the work of electricians, carpenters, cleaning services, AC repair persons and other suppliers tasked with day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of multiple fitness clubs, your leadership, handiwork, and know-how will be seen, heard, smelled and felt by every member and every employee within our organization. Our mission is to change lives at The Edge, and by fostering a comfortable, clean and safe environment, you'll play a key in overall customer satisfaction and, likely, the revenues that result from membership renewals. We're looking for someone with outstanding people management skills, who leads by example, has hands-on skills to handle a variety of diverse tasks, and who's always willing to go the extra mile.Duties Responsibilities/Essential functions:Club Maintenance: Ensures all building assets are promptly and safely maintained. This includes repair and preventative maintenance of some fitness equipment, maintenance of electrical components, audio/video systems, basic plumbing, painting, carpentry, window cleaning, etc. Executes all routine building maintenance, repair and annual building inspections including any preventative maintenance related to fire, safety and mechanical contractorsEnsures completion of scheduled maintenance activities and coordinates the efforts of multiple vendorsDevelops credible, effective working relationships with employees, contractors, vendors and the communityManages qualified local technical vendor or contract resources (electrician, HVAC, etc.), as requiredOversees and ensures cleanliness of the Club (indoors and outdoors) and equipmentAssists with oversight of the cleaning vendors of The Edge Fitness Clubs and their performanceResponsible for ensuring club GMs are accountable for all work areas being cleanResponsible for communicating any upcoming maintenance and preventative maintenance to club employees membersEnsure that all exercise equipment is up and runningOccupational Health Safety:Monitors the safety of work area and responds immediately to rectify any safety concerns; in the event that a member incident occurs, coordinates that a member of Equipment team is out ASAP to inspectEnsures the safety of all members, property and staffRecruitment Training:Conducts training and orientation of Maintenance TechniciansRecruits and selects new maintenance technicians and maintains an active talent pipelinePeople Management:Provides coaching, mentoring, supervision and support to Equipment TechniciansPromotes a corporate culture of continuous quality improvement and accountabilityMentors and motivates direct reports, providing clear guidance regarding priorities and specific role assignmentsCommunication: Interacts frequently with Director of Facilities and Equipment Technicians to ensure effective and frequent communication at all levels within the departmentInteracts frequently with General Managers to communicate candidly any areas of improvement or deficiencyQuality Control: Conducts structured and scored bi-weekly walkthroughs of each facility and takes appropriate action for any repairs/work needed; follows up on results with responsible partiesClub Management:Promotes an engaging and welcoming environment to all employees, members and visitorsCreates a culture and environment consistent with company values and standards for employees and membersMay be asked to work on special projects at various clubsKey Qualifications:Related Health Club experience in a facilities leadership roleExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to detailThrives in a customer focused environmentExcellent Team-WorkValid driver's license and clean driving recordEducation Experience: High school or equivalent preferredExperience in maintenance tradesExcellent Communication SkillsAbility to handle multiple tasksCompetency Requirements:Integrity Trust: Demonstrates consistently sound personal and business ethics and behaviors. Ability to stand for long periods of time, with climbing, kneeling and crouching requiredAbility to lift medium to heavy objects, to a maximum of 100 poundsWork Environment:This position will require that you work in the clubs daily. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Travel:You will be traveling from club to club daily. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position, and core hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position occasionally requires longer hours and frequent evening and weekend work, and special projects such as new club openings.
