Ensure the safety of patrons at the Minitab aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies.

***ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES***

* Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the aquatics facility; act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.

* Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.

* Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times; maintain a high standard of customer service.

* Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

***EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE***

* At least current high school student with 6 months to 1 year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified is preferred.

* Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification, or lifeguard certification by a recognized source of training.

* Red Cross CPR/AED certification

***QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES***

* Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

* Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.

* Knowledge of CPR, AED, and emergency medical procedures.

* Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.

* Display sensitivity and tact when dealing with people at all physical levels.

* Good communication and organizational skills.

* Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and transport objects weighing 20 pounds.

* Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
