Professional Development Specialist

Full Time, Days

Job Description:
  • Ensures that clinicians are prepared to be responsible for promoting patient safety and high quality patient care through clinical leadership, education, consultation, modeling, and research.
  • Incorporates evidence-based practice, theory, and research into various patient care settings according to patient needs by collaborating with multi-professional multidisciplinary groups; facilitating the development of hospital and department policies, nursing procedures, regulatory standards and guidelines, and research.
  • Acts as a community resource providing nursing orientation, education, and ongoing competency verification.
Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
  • Three (3) years of acute care experience in the designated specialty within the last five (5) years
  • MSN from accredited nursing program
  • Certification as Professional Development Specialist (PDS) preferred
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC/ENPC certifications as required by department of assignment.
  • Basic Computer skills to include word, excel, ppt and asset
