Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.QUALIFICATIONS:BS degree in related field strongly preferredExperience may substitute for a degree on a 2:1 basisBilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirableMinimum one year experience in social service settingExperience with Excel Spreadsheets and Word documentsExperience in working with homeless and low-income familiesDemonstrated ability to work effectively with a collaborative teamExcellent working knowledge of local community resourcesMust have good tracking and follow-up skillsMust demonstrate appropriate time management skillsDemonstrate a positive attitude, with ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstancesAble to maintain a non-judgement attitude, professional approach and boundaries with clientsAble to handle crisis/emergency services for the homeless and to utilize crisis intervention & conflict resolution skillsAbility to assess at risk participants and situationsAbility to maintain a calm demeanor in stressful situationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust pass a criminal background checkMaintain confidentiality of sensitive client dataMust possess a current Arizona Drivers' License and have a clean driving recordAbility to pass internal vehicle safety e-learning moduleRESPONSIBILITIES:Greet and triage clients preparing initial interview/intake information and (in cooperation with program supervisors) make client option recommendationsAssist in maintaining an accurate information stream that meets the needs of program participants and funding sourcesCoordinate and/or conduct group and individual intake meetings with new program participants to explain shelter policies and procedures.Work with program supervisors to ensure that all clients are treated fairly and with compassionAbility to exercise mature and sound judgment as well as good problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.Responsible for the daily log of persons who come to TSA for assistance, ensuring that our screening meets the needs of the applicant for each program and funding sourcesRegular, timely statistical reporting is requiredEnsure that data entry is accurate and timely for access by the program supervisors as neededRepresent The Salvation Army when interfacing with social service agencies, clients, program participants and other groups as necessary and/or assignedAbility to manage crisis situations with minimum supervision and to set and observe appropriate personal limits and boundaries.Liaison with probation officers, law enforcement, substance use counselors, foster agencies, and other community groups for intake of potential program participants.Attend staff meetings as assignedParticipate in seasonal program as directed by supervisorOther duties as assigned, as they relate to the position of Intake CoordinatorPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
