* Required to work 1 weekend per month (2 shifts - Saturday & Sunday) & minimum 4 weekday shifts per month*

Clinical liaisons are highly competent nurses and therapists who understand the business side of health care. Working in local acute care hospitals, CLs educate patients and families on the goals of medical rehabilitation. They assess patients to determine individual care needs, review medical records and meet with hospital teams to coordinate safe and timely transfers to our hospitals. CLs build strong relationships that help to build business through an increase of referrals and admissions.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

You will develop professional relationships with case managers, physicians and clinicians in referring acute care hospitals; educate staff, patients and families regarding rehabilitation services provided by our rehabilitation hospital.

You will clinically assess referred patients with a rehab diagnosis, on-site at the referring hospitals in your territory for admission to our inpatient rehabilitation hospital and manage the referral process.

Specific Duties

* Create target lists of contacts and decision makers in assigned hospitals. Develop relationships, provide excellent customer service while educating referral source case managers and physicians on services provided by our hospital. * Demonstrate positive referrer satisfaction and account retention. * Educate potential patients and families on acute rehabilitation and benefits of our type of care. Distribute collateral materials appropriately. * Support Sales and Marketing through educational programs, tours, meetings, etc. in territory hospitals. * Develop strategies to grow market share in core business lines in territory hospitals. Create and submit quarterly goals and objectives to supervisor. * Work with Director Business Development and other leadership to identify opportunities for expansion of existing and new strategic business initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

* Current and valid state license or eligibility for state license as a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist required. Multi-state license required based on geographical territory.

Preferred Experience

* Two years related experience working in a clinical healthcare setting or previous experience working in a clinical liaison role. * Demonstrated competency with the pre-admission process including assessments and relationship building in a rehabilitation setting or in another post-acute care setting preferred. * Demonstrated computer and technology proficiency. * Must exercise sound judgment in handling the professional and legally confidential nature of health care sales.
