Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and hotel policies.

* General Ledger Maintenance: * Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards. * Record necessary journal entries to reflect financial transactions accurately.

* Accounts Reconciliation: * Reconcile Accounts Receivable on a regular basis and provide weekly aging reports to Assistant Director of Finance. * Review prior day accommodation and outlet revenue batches first thing each morning and tie out to the general ledger. * Investigate and resolve batch discrepancies in a timely manner. * Ensure group/event billings are processed and recorded to the general ledger in a timely manner. * Allocate labor and materials for group events.

* Expense Management: * Reconcile Accounts Payable on a regular basis and provide weekly aging reports to Assistant Director of Finance. * Review Accounts Payable invoice coding and confirm batch posting accuracy daily. * Review and process employee expense reports within Ramp, ensuring compliance with company policies. * Work collaboratively with departments to monitor and control expenses. * Make reclass entries to move expenses to the correct budgeted account when necessary.

* Audit Support: * Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and provide necessary documentation for internal and external audits. * Support the audit process by responding to auditor inquiries and ensuring compliance.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * Previous experience in accounting, preferably within the hotel industry. * Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Great Plains is a plus. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities. * Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
