Overview
Kemin Industries is seeking an Research & Editorial Intern to work with the worldwide corporate communications team on content creation, internal research, and information gathering to create new corporate narratives, build a digital content library/process, and assist with cataloging historical assets to create corporate communication pieces.

This internship will consist of two major projects: creating a 75th-anniversary Kemin history book and capturing the history/management of Kemin navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. The role will also work on various communication items such as website copy, media releases, social media, process optimization, internal communications, etc.

Candidates must possess strong writing skills, be curious thinkers, be collaborative and professional, and work well in a fast-paced corporate environment with global team members. This role will interact with senior leadership.

The position will be in Des Moines, Iowa, at the companys global headquarters. A hybrid work schedule may be available based on the project(s). Kemin is a global company with teams around the world. The work schedule may change sometimes based on time zones. The internship requires 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Solid researcher with a drive to organize and improve systems of communication and brand messaging.

Must be a strong writer and strategically create content and compelling narratives for corporate messaging.

Experience with multimedia content creation and organization, including digital asset management systems, photos, videos, web copy, etc., and how to best streamline and establish processes to manage assets for effective communications.

Experience with videography and audio platforms such as podcasts. Basic understanding of content creation platforms and software, including Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Undergraduate student in journalism/mass communication majors or other relevant fields of study, such as history, English, or other related majors.

Must be at least a junior or senior level student.

Graduate students may also apply.

Must be enrolled in an accredited school/university.

Relevant experience and/or areas of study that would enhance this position include history, library sciences, life sciences, or anthropology.

Knowledge and an interest in science, the consumer food industry, global affairs, or B2B companies is a bonus.

Ability to commit to 10-12 weeks of full-time employment during the months of May-August.

Depending on project status and success in the role, this position has the potential to be extended into the fall.
