Looking for a candidate who can grow into the Controller role as the company grows.

This is a smaller, privately held company taking on a new business by year's end, so growth is not far off. Please take a look at the job spec below and apply if you're qualified. This is a great opportunity for someone who lives on the IL side of the river. This role will require the employee to be on-site initially, but eventually will move to a hybrid model. Perform detailed reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. Manage the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, and financial statements. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and analysis to support financial planning. Oversee the AR/AP functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions and resolving any discrepancies. Collaborate with the Controller to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations. Support the ERP re-implementation project, including system configuration, testing, and user training. Assist in the onboarding and integration of a new inventory software package, ensuring seamless transition and alignment with existing systems. Perform various ad-hoc financial analysis and tasks as required by the Controller or senior management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with a focus on reconciliations, month-end close, and AR/AP management. Public Accounting experience is a plus. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software; experience with ERP implementation is a plus.
