Accounting Manager

LaSalle Network has partnered with a family-owned services company based in Rolling Meadows, IL to hire on a new Accounting Manager to join their growing team. This individual will report to the CFO, manage a small team of 2 direct reports, own all of close, management reporting and assist in contact and pricing strategy for clients. This position is budgeted for a base salary of up to $140,000 with additional annual bonus.

Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making by the executive team
  • Develop annual budgets in collaboration with department heads and senior management
  • Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis
  • Prepare financial forecasts to assist in planning and resource allocation
  • Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and clients to resolve any billing or payment discrepancies
  • Oversee the general ledger system and ensure all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards and other financial accounts
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations and tax laws
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for annual audits and tax filings
  • Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, support and performance feedback
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages professional growth and development

Accounting Manager Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred
  • 8+ years' experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Excel
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all work
  • Prior experience in a service-oriented industry is a plus
