Human Resources Generalist

Meret Hotel Management

Meret is an award-winning Hotel management company dedicated to delivering superior results to our owners, associates, and guests. Based in Springfield, Oregon, Meret Hotel Management currently operates 19 hotel properties in Oregon and Washington State with plans to grow their portfolio in coming years.

The position is directly responsible for managing our company benefits including vendor relationships, open enrollment, and compliance. Additionally, this role is responsible for managing Worker's Compensation, unemployment claims, and other administrative duties. This role is responsible for adherence to federal and state guidelines in all areas of work; for creating and implementing best practices, and strategies to ensure compliance and efficiency in service to our associates. +This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

We are looking for a Human Resources professional who brings the following experience and abilities:
  • 2+ Years of benefit administration experience and 5+ years in Human Resources.
  • Must be able to demonstrate strategic problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Must be proficient in working with HR information systems - Paycom experience a plus.
  • Must understand benefit management, including experience managing open enrollment.
  • Must stay on top of industry trends in benefits and have a strategy for staying up to date on laws impacting benefits, unemployment, and Worker's Compensation.
  • Must be able to demonstrate participation in a robust team environment.


Additional qualifications:

Must be detail-oriented, with strong self-organization and communication skills. Promotes an

atmosphere of teamwork. Strong customer service orientation and skills with exceptional

attention to detail. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and work in order to meet all

deadlines.

This position will be based in Springfield, Oregon.

Estimated travel for the position: negligible

Starting Rate: $25-$28/ hour

Qualifications

Read, write, and speak English fluently. Previous management and/or HR experience, or education in HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience. Understanding of labor law, Oregon Worker's Compensation rules and proficiency in HR Information Systems. Preferred experience in Paycom. Valid driver license with acceptable driving record. Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other team members. Must pass criminal background check.
