Production Manager

This person is responsible for overseeing the Manufacturing and related production processes, ensuring departmental goals contribute and align with the overall success of Husqvarna Construction, Product Category CDS/CDT. Optimize the operations on a local scale to support global success, taking advantage of the local and global resources and its global reach. This position is critical for ensuring manufactured products meet or exceeds customer expectations for quality and delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Department Management
- Act as a leader of people in a culture of personal accountability
- Act as a leader of change in support of company initiatives
- Endorse & Drives lean activities and acts as an agent of change
- Drive employee involvement as a source of untapped knowledge for improvement. The overall aim is to drive and improve delivery performance in terms of on time in full and predictable lead-times to secure long term competitiveness
- Drive employee satisfaction and culture
- Drive employee involvement as a source of untapped knowledge for improvement
- Provide direction to supervisors and department heads.
- Provide guidance to staff when unique circumstances arise. Act as decision maker in issues elevated to higher level
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide regular performance feedback for team development opportunities
- Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
- Oversee daily workflow of Production
- Structure the departments to maximize efficiency
- Responsible for departmental expense budget
- Oversee daily production.
- Supervises production department, in absence of department supervisors.
- Implement 5S and improve efficiencies
- Approves time and attendance
- Creates production work schedule
- Endorse and lead production teams in adherence to the safety & health compliance system
- Endorse and lead production teams in adherence of the ISO14000 environmental management system
- Able to work in a team environment to get results
- Respond with a strong sense of urgency, while getting results
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects without losing focus
- Able to solve new or unfamiliar problems and trouble-shoot problems independently
- Strong Interpersonal Communication Skills
- Strong ability to solve problems while supporting long term strategies

- Strong organizational skills
- Strong knowledge of PRMS, SAP or similar ERP system, Microsoft Office
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes related to Diamond Tool Production & best practices
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodology
- Strong knowledge of work measurement and cost analysis
- Working knowledge of safety, health and environmental compliance
- BS degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent work experience required
- 7-10 years previous managerial experience in a manufacturing/production environment
- Experience working in a global company desired
- Normal Office/Factory Environment
- Heavy PC use
- Daily, weekly, monthly and annual deadlines
- Above average exposure to manufacturing environment
