The Job The Staff Accountant will report to the Manager, Accounting at Corporate headquarters and will be supporting the mission and values of the Company along with the goals and direction of the Finance Department.

You Will Perform timely completion of monthly reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts including: accounts payable, payroll liability accounts, unclaimed liabilities, and others as assigned. Responsible for supporting the Finance Department by managing daily accounting tasks, including vendor set-up and maintenance. Perform daily cash deposits of all checks received each day and ensure each check gets deposited into the proper bank accounts. Record all banking activity to the General Ledger in a timely manner. Coordinate with Claims department regarding the status of returned claims checks and ensure that each check is resolved within required time frame. Prepare the monthly Emdeon Claims Timeliness report. Responsible for recording all journal entries related to payroll, payroll benefits, and intercompany settlements in the General Ledger. Responsibilities include working with HR and/or Payroll departments to resolve discrepancies. Support the sales commission accounting such as vendor profile maintenance, void and reissue, and statements distribution, mail management, and daily bank deposits. Maintain a current tracking and reconciliation of the unclaimed property liability accounts together with assisting the reporting process according to the various state requirements from due diligence to the escheatment for claims and commission checks and/or other unclaimed related unclaimed items as needed. Accountable for the posting and reconciliation of Concur transactions into general ledger and ensure posted transactions for both employee expense reimbursements and credit cards charges match with payments processed via payroll and bank credit card statements. Cross-train with other members of the accounting department regarding other general accounting functions to serve as a resource and a back-up and support for those functions. Act as Subject Matter Expert with respect to general accounting and expense accruals and maintain a professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. Actively supports the achievement of SCAN’s Vision and Goals. Other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study preferred. 1+ years’ experience supporting the Finance Department by managing daily accounting tasks, including vendor set-up and maintenance. Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills; Ability to multitask. Ability to appropriately maintain confidentiality. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, required.
