Job Description:
As a Jr. Electrical Estimator at Switch Electric, you will play a crucial role in our project bidding and estimation process. You will work closely with our experienced team of estimators and project managers to prepare accurate and competitive bids for electrical projects. This position provides an excellent opportunity for growth and advancement in the field of electrical estimating.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with senior estimators to analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation.
Assist in preparing cost estimates for electrical projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Utilize estimating software and tools to generate accurate and competitive bids.
Participate in bid reviews and strategy meetings.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry pricing, codes, and standards.
Communicate effectively with team members, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Assist in the preparation of comprehensive bid packages.
Support the transition of successful bids to project teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred but not required).
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Eagerness to learn and develop estimating skills.
Prior experience or coursework in electrical estimating is a plus.
