Accounting Analyst

Job Description:
- Preparing and posting journal entries for wide variety of areas as needed including employee and employer taxes, net payroll, employee claims. While some journal entries are routine, judgement is needed in most cases to identify errors or reclasses needed.
- Reconciling all domestic and some international general ledger accounts related to payroll, accounts payable, and employee benefits. Individuals must understand the entire accounting process for the areas assigned and then identify areas of concern in the reconciliations.
- Researching and responding to questions regarding payroll and accounts payable processing as needed
- Preparing invoices for credit unions on a monthly basis
- Preparing and sending invoices for the client to internal and external parties.
- Demonstrate leadership skills when resolving issues.
- Building a strong network with peers and others is critical to success.
- Provide excellent customer service to both our internal shared service providers as well as our clients in the business units by exceeding all service level agreements.
- Ability to independently prioritize workload in a high-volume environment.
- Actively participate and champion team projects and process improvement initiatives.
Experience:
- Strong communication and partnering skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to handle high volume of work in a deadline driven environment
- Ability to partner with others to root cause problems
- Demonstrated strong Excel skills
- Ability to identify and communicate problems
Skills:
- SAP experience in Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Financial Accounting Modules
- One-year General Ledger account reconciliation experience
- Intermediate experience using Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong understanding of AP or Payroll process
- One year commitment to the role
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an accounting or finance related field
