ARIZONA GENERAL HOSPITAL
Responsibilities:The Therapist provides patient care including evaluating the patient for treatment providing and directing administration of the care plan upon the referral from the physician. Consults with other health care disciplines to coordinate therapeutic programs and discharge planning for individual patients. Instructs patients and caregivers in home program exercises and functional activities. Assists with patient program management while delivering quality patient services.
- Perform modified barium swallow studies to determine a patients ability to swallow safely
- Perform cognitive assessments to determine a patients ability to make decisions for themselves, remember basic information, control their emotions and interact appropriately with others.
- Document all assessment results and work with physicians and other clinicians to develop a plan of care and track all treatments and patient progress.
- Using exercises, modalities, and/or adaptive devices, work with patients to improve speech, memory, cognition, etc.
- Educate the patient and families on these processes so they can make the best decisions for the patient.
- Consistently deliver the highest quality care to every patient.

Qualifications:Minimum:
- Internship or rotation in appropriate clinical setting required.
- Graduate of an accredited Speech/Language Pathology program or related field required.
- Computer skills required.
- Arizona License in professional area.
- American Heart Association BLS required.
Preferred:
- 2 years progressive experience in clinical area performing patient clinical care preferred.
- Master's or Doctorate degree in appropriate clinical area preferred.
- Prior use of electronic health record preferred.
