Job Description
The Customer Service Associate assists Sales staff with customer set up, credit approval process, part entry, order entry, inventory management, open order status, and reports as necessary. Essential functions include entering and proofreading accurate and thorough customer information, records, sales orders, part specs, production specifications, packaging information, and claim forms, monitoring status of open orders, and working with appropriate parties to ensure on-time delivery. The Customer Service Associate will also work closely with the Production Planning department to expediate orders and/or with management to ensure that correct inventory is on hand to support stocking programs and general sales. Prepares accurate and thorough customer stocking, sales, and other customer-related reports. Proactively identifies customer needs and advises sales staff of potential issues with orders, including delivery set-backs, material shortages, credit or other. This position will also resolve customer complaints through sales staff and claims by partnering with the appropriate internal parties, as well as supporting credit and collection activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year customer service experience required.
- Ability to communicate effectively, using both written and verbal communication.
- Steel service center experience preferred.
