Quality Ironworks, is Dallas based steel fabrication company that focuses on the construction industry and is currently hiring a Steel Estimating Lead. The Estimating Lead works with the company’s sales team with a focus on preparing estimates while building a successful process for proposal development and developing an estimating team. This role is responsible for the proposal development process, coordinating with subcontractors and assigned estimating staff.

Responsibilities & Duties

Manage projects through various phases of preconstruction (budget, estimate, bid, turnover, etc)

Review construction contracts insuring they match scope from proposals.

Manage bid process (document management, bid forms, proposals, etc.)

Manage pre-construction process for effective customer relationships, internal efficiencies and company profitability.

Mange subcontractors for successful takeoffs.

Coordinate work across multiple internal departments and engineering consultants.

Perform takeoffs and produce detailed estimates.

Present proposal deliverables to clients and sales team

Develop assigned estimating staff.

Qualifications

Read and interpret detailed construction contracts, drawings and specifications and communicate findings with team.

Minimum (3) years’ experience in steel construction (structural, stairs and miscellaneous)

Strong written and oral communication skills

Technical skills including MS Office Suite and Bluebeam

Tekla Structures a plus
