Reporting to the Vice President of Additive Manufacturing, this role put you in the position to step into and continue to develop your engineering acumen in the additive manufacturing space. This is a role where you'll be hands-on and interacting with clients as you become an interval part of our additive team responsible for providing technical support, design assistance and overall expertise to our customers. Responsibilities:
  • Install, set up, and configure Markforged 3D printers at customer sites.
  • Use design for additive manufacturing (DFAM) techniques to design tooling and manufacturing aids for customer benchmarking and evaluation.
  • Conduct comprehensive training sessions for customers on the operation and maintenance of Markforged printers as well as the advanced software features of the Markforged platform.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with Markforged printers remotely or on-site.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of printers to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, engineering, and customer support to address customer needs effectively.
  • Document service activities, including maintenance procedures, troubleshooting steps, and customer interactions.
  • Provide timely and accurate technical support to customers via phone, email, or on-site visits.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in additive manufacturing technology and Markforged products to provide informed support and recommendations.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field would be highly desirable, but a strong ddesire to learn coupled with strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills could also be a good fit

  • Familiarity with Solidworks CAD software is a big plus.

  • Previous experience working with 3D printers, preferably Markforged printers, of course, would be be highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal teams is critical.

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to travel locally and in the region as necessary (we don't expect this to be a road warrior job, but there will be needs to visit clients as well as coming to the office in Germantown most days of the week)
