Job Type Full-time, TemporaryDescriptionJOB TITLE: Younger Youth Workshop Facilitator - SYEP DEPARTMENT: Sunset Park High School Exemption: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Program Director SUPERVISES: N/A PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To provide educational workshops to participants (Ages 14-24) enrolled in the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). I. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to Co-lead four workshops each week for 6 weeks Present information on the following topics: Program Orientation, Work Readiness, Career & Higher Education Exploration, Health & Wellness, and Program Reflection Attend a three-day Orientation and a weekly professional development training session. Complete light administrative duties (e.g. recording workshop attendance, assisting administrative team with participant timesheets, preparing workshop supplies, etc.) Attend weekly professional development meetings II. QUALIFICATIONS Education/Degree minimum requirement: Bachelor's Degree or currently enrolled in a 4 - year degree program Years of Experience: 2 years of previous youth work experience with adolescents, teens, and/or young adults Able to present themselves professionally at all times and demonstrate appropriate boundaries with teens, parents and coworkers Bilingual Spanish or Chinese preferred Enjoys working in a friendly, exciting and fast-paced environment Flexible and works well as part of a diverse team Highly dependable Flexibility and the ability to work well as a member of a team Bilingual: English/Mandarin/Cantonese or English/Spanish, preferred III. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS Build and maintain close, daily interactions with participants, coworkers, and supervisors Have a strong sensitivity to cultural differences present among staff and clients within our organization. Possess a strong belief in people's ability to grow and change Forge a mutually respectful partnership with persons served and their families Ability to set limits and maintain the helping role of practitioner and to intervene appropriately IV. WORKING CONDITIONS Actively engage and interact with participants each day May be required to be active by walking, bending, standing, squatting or sitting on the floor with participants Demonstrated ability to maintain a high energy level May be exposed to all weather conditions and might be required to work in various temperatures in order to facilitate activities in various locations inside and outside of the school building V. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY The Workshop Facilitator role focuses on creating and facilitating educational workshops within the SYEP program. This is a temporary full-time position at $17.00 to $19.00 per hour. Salary Description $17.00 to $19.00 per hour
