To continually strengthen its base and support its growth in the US, Midea Water Heater Division is extending its Research and Innovation capabilities. We are seeking a Junior R&D Engineer to join our R&D Center located in Louisville, Kentucky. Job Responsibility: Perform water heater testing at component, sub-system, and system level in accordance with engineering specifications, procedures, and acceptable industry standards in support of product development, validation, and verification process. Setup, adjust, and change test units and conditions; and perform the required tests in accordance with engineering specifications or defined test procedures. Collect, analyze, interpret, summarize, and document data and information observed during testing. Write technical reports covering test conditions, procedures, results, conclusions, and recommendations. Investigate and troubleshoot product design related issues and options, document findings and recommend corrective actions and improvement changes. Assist product design team with design approval or change process by providing testing data. Operate, maintain, and repair testing equipment, instrumentation, and systems in accordance with engineering specifications or defined test practices. Demonstrate understanding of operating computer systems for data acquisition, recording test results, reporting project status, and managing test documentations. Assist in preparation of service manual, technical service bulletins, and trouble-shooting diagrams. 3D CAD software knowledge (i.e., PTC-Creo, Solidworks). Ability to work in multi-cultural environment and within cross-functional teams, including participation in evening conference meetings occasionally Strong internal and external communications skills; effective reasoning and analytical skills (ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations). Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Master’s Degree preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions and procedures. Ability to work and travel internationally. Must be familiar with the use of hand tools. Other duties as assigned. Desired Skills and Expertise: Demonstrate familiarity with gas combustion and electrical concepts. Minimum of 1-3 years of work experience in gas appliance industry including co-ops. Knowledge of standard practices and terminology in the field of water heating and plumbing. Experience in working with governing certification agencies. Obtain one of the following agency certifications (CSA, UL, or DOE) preferred. Midea America Corp, is an equal opportunity employer.
