Your Job as a Senior Billing Manager:

Leads, trains and motivates a team of employees within the Central Business Office (CBO). This is a key role in the organization that is central to the success of the business office and company goals.

Hours:

This position offers a hybrid schedule option. ( In-Office days: Tuesday & Thursday)

Your Responsibilities as a Senior Billing Manager:

  1. Assist in implementing the day-to-day functions of the Billing/Collection department.
  2. Oversee and streamline Billing/Collection and accounts receivable processes.
  3. Implement written policies and procedures that govern Billing/Collection and accounts receivable functions.
  4. Plan and implement quality assurance for all processes.
  5. Special program/billing planning and implementation.
  6. Assist in preparing financial and statistical reports as directed and ensure that the Billing/Collection team has performed month end closing procedure within the established timeframe.
  7. Trend open accounts receivable and work with staff to ensure accounts receivable is being worked.
  8. Responsible for auditing Billing Specialist I Billing Packets to ensure that all payers were billed and that the billing spreadsheet matches what was uploaded to the clearinghouse.
  9. Responsible for auditing Billing Episodes for all new staff until there is complete confidence the employee understands and is accurately updating Billing Episodes.
  10. Weekly reporting to RBOD an overview of the week and participates in AR meetings
  11. Proven ability to perform strategic planning and priority setting for the Billing/Collection Team.
  12. Work with the team to develop systems and processes to improve processes and procedures.
  13. Assigns and allocates resources as required to ensure goals for aging and receivables are met.
  14. Assists with Medical Billing/Collection Job Duties as needed which may include: Track, fix, re-bill and follow-up on unpaid claims; Contact insurance companies regarding denials; Verify Insurance; Send medical records for claims as well as insurance audit; Post charges; Work up accounts for refunds; Appeal claims if necessary; Assist patients with Billing/Collection and account questions in a professional manner; Arrange payment plans according to company policy.
  15. Ensure staff perform month end closing procedure within the established timeframe and assist as needed.
  16. Directing work, resolving conflict and fostering a healthy teamwork environment.
  17. Work in coordination with other Managers and Directors to ensure that all processes are consistent throughout the team.
  18. Maintains current knowledge of coding guidelines through the use of CPT, HCPCS II and ICD-9/10 materials.
  19. Responsibilities include interviewing and selecting candidates that align with company culture and values.
  20. Operates in a liaison capacity with the field operations and outside vendors, partners et al.
  21. Handles external inquiries such as audits, surveys etc.
  22. Responsible for and maintains standards of company policies and procedures to ensure compliance and standardization at office level.


Qualifications:

Your Skills and Qualifications as a Senior Billing Manager:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; prefer some college or technical school coursework.
  • 5 + recent years of experience in healthcare medical Billing/Collection, preferred.
  • 5 + years of Management/Supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data & information while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
  • Proven track record for improving process efficiencies and problem solving.
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate direct reports.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
