Senior Business Systems Analys t, you'll collaborate with product management and engineering teams, bridging the gap between business and technology throughout the product lifecycle to support development that ensures a compelling digital experience for our retail Customers, or help arm H-E-B Partners company-wide with world-class business applications to thrive in their jobs. You'll also mentor others.

We are looking for:
- a related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience in

retail

or

warehousing
- 5+ years of experience as a

Sr. Business Analyst
- Experience working in a

Engineering

setting with technical stakeholders
- Experience with

databases

and queries - SQL, NoSQL, Oracle
- Interest in working with

Proactive

to write customizations
- Willing to be a technical BSA

What is the work?
- Identifies / documents functional and non-functional requirements
- Ensures Product Management and business stakeholders understanding impacts of requests on the project, associated applications, and other business units
- Influences / manages scope change
- Refines requirements (user stories) so they are readily consumable by software Engineers
- Owns end-to-end quality strategy for group of closely aligned product(s)
- Develops test cases designed to validate functional and non-functional system requirements
- Executes / facilitates execution of test scripts based on test cases
- Works in testing tools or frameworks to create automated testing suites for one or more systems
- Uses data to drive decisions
- Applies a high-level understanding of each product's system architecture and the technologies used to move / modify data in them (e.g., queues / messaging services, webservices, APIs, databases)
- Assists Engineers in debugging / troubleshooting issues involving data or the accuracy of data, in day-to-day work and production support scenarios
- Researches external systems as needed to reverse engineer or understand their function through data extraction and validation
- Contributes to refinement of SDLC-related tools, standards, and training
- Influences business process improvements / product roadmap
- Serves as domain subject matter expert
- Mentors others

What is your background?
- 5+ years of experience as a Sr. Business Analyst
- Experience successfully working in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment
- Experience supporting

retail ,

supply chain ,

ecommerce , or digital marketing operations a plus
- Experience with

Java

Do you have what it takes to be a fit as a Business Systems Analyst at H-E-B?
- Comprehensive knowledge of Agile / Scrum and project management tools
- Working knowledge of SQL, and how to build queries independently
- Knowledge of databases and data stores, and how to access data
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills
- Advanced verbal / written communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Strong decision-making skills
- Ability to leverage data to tell a meaningful story
- Ability to break down complex problems into components and reassemble them to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Ability to validate data and understand how it flows end-to-end for a product or group of closely aligned product(s)
- Motivated to independently achieve results
