POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for providing diagnostic evaluations and medication services within the standards of practice for the profession and agency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
•Completes initial psychiatric assessments based on current DSM/ICD regulations and in accordance with agency timelines.

•Completes medical records and other documentation in a timely and accurate manner in the EHR in accordance with policy and procedure.

•Reviews diagnosis, evaluation and treatment plans in collaboration with clients and/or interdisciplinary staff as appropriate.

•Prescribes medications and monitors client's biological and psychological response. When appropriate, meets with client's significant other(s), providing education about prescribed medications.

•Provides crisis intervention and evaluation when needed.

•Works with other clinical staff to ensure necessary and appropriate resource linkage.

•Works in cooperative and problem-solving manner with other Beacon departments and community agencies.

•Represents agency in cooperative, positive manner, identifying and reporting any concerns regarding improvement of the service delivery system.

•Actively contributes to the functioning of the treatment team, informing members of issues impacting care in a succinct and timely manner.

•Consistently meets billable expectations.

•Maintain knowledge of agency technology programs and/or systems needed to do the job and use them effectively.

•Other duties and/or responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
Education/Certifications:
•Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Missouri.
•Master's Degree in Nursing.
•BLS training required.
•Requires Collaborating Physician agreement with Medical Director.
•Valid driver's license and state minimum-require auto insurance.

Experience Required:
•1 - 3 years of experience as Nurse Practitioner or
•3 - 5 years of RN experience in behavioral health and Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner

Required Knowledge:
•Medication practices in Behavioral Health
•Excellent diagnostic Skills
•Strong understanding of HIPAA rules, client confidentiality, therapeutic boundaries and able to manage a wide variety of client populations
•Strong documentation skills and prior experience working within an EHR (electronic health record).

Skills/Abilities:
•Ability to establish and maintain appropriate professional boundaries
•Skilled at working closely with a team
•Skilled at providing a welcoming atmosphere free of distractions, including respectful and trauma informed language and non-verbal behavior
•The ability to use basic business equipment and EHR
•Consistent practice of self-care
