LOCATION: NEWINGTON, CT. This role is an in person role, not hybrid, not remote.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

SUMMARY

Support logistic and shipping requirements for warehouse operations, monitor truck and trailer requirements, and perform other support functions as needed within the warehouse operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage outbound and inbound logistic requirements for the warehouse, interacting with all operations (warehouse, Print Services, Label Companies, Windsor, Mail Processing, Maintenance etc.). Work with production areas and warehouse staff to review work in progress jobs, material in stock to ship, as well as plan for upcoming jobs. Review and prioritize current and future shipping needs.

  • Work with Outsourcing team for schedules of ship outs and deliveries for labels, components, envelopes etc.to/from outside vendors and assist with return of materials. Coordinate with Mail Processing for return of mail when needed.

  • Assist Account Executive and Sales team with quote requests and determine best method for shipping. Work with outside trucking vendors for quoting and scheduling of shipments to meet client and Data-Mail requirements.

  • Review and maintain truck and trailer requirements; daily/weekly logs, maintenance, registration, insurance, DOT etc. and provide records for reporting to management.

  • Assist with monthly equipment checks, work with drivers on daily logs and monitor for quality/accuracy, and follow up on any needs. Maintain company vehicles federal inspections, license renewal programs and DOT schedules. Generate quarterly highway miles reports for Accounting.

  • Review and document previous days shipment paperwork. Check TORs for accuracy and process prior day TORs for pricing and tracking numbers.

  • Support special project needs within the department i.e. inventory control, recycling efforts

  • Responsible for daily FedEx and UPS shipments and reporting, and assist with processing of packages as needed.

  • Maintain company vehicles federal inspections and license renewal programs and work with human resources for DOT schedules on drivers

  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance, and be flexible with hours to support business needs

  • Comply with company rules, regulations and procedures and maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.

  • Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department.

  • Keep manager/supervisor informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.

  • Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in a logistics or warehouse role

  • Two-year college degree a plus


COMPETENCIES

  • Good communication skills; verbal and written

  • Effective office management and organization skills

  • Knowledge of FedEx and UPS Domestic and International Shipping regulations a plus

  • Computer capable; MS Office

  • Ability to act independently and work within tight schedules

  • Good analytical and problem solving ability

  • Fork truck experience a plus, but will train
