The Structural Engineer is responsible for designing load-bearing structures and structural elements such as buildings, bridges, and roadways. This role involves analyzing building materials for construction and is particularly suited for those with Federal design and design/build experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide structural engineering and analysis to develop structural plans.
  • Assist in producing contract drawings, engineering plans, and details for various structural projects.
  • Contribute to structural solutions and construction administration by reviewing construction submittals and responding to contractor questions.
  • Assist in writing specifications for structural projects.
  • Support project managers in coordinating projects among contractors, owners, architects, and other disciplines.
  • Perform site visits as necessary during the design and/or construction phases of a project.
  • Help prepare reports detailing investigations and assessments of structures.

Education and Training Requirements:

  • Engineer Intern Training (EIT) certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
  • Federal project experience (Defense and/or Civilian Agency) preferred.

  • Team Orientation & Interpersonal Skills: Highly motivated, passionate, and creative team player with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships at all levels within and external to the organization.
  • Communication: Able to express oneself effectively and persuasively, both verbally and in writing, using correct language and grammar in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner.
  • Organization & Time Management: Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, planning, scheduling, and organizing professional schedules to complete tasks within established deadlines, handling multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
  • Systems & Software Proficiency: Knowledgeable in the use of AutoCAD, Revit, structural analysis software, RAM Structural System, MathCAD, Enercalc, and Microsoft Office applications.
