Systems Engineer:

We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Systems Engineer to build, maintain, and troubleshoot development team deployment infrastructure. You will work closely with multiple development teams, with distinct needs and requirements, to help facilitate testing and validation activities that are required to streamline the delivery of software solutions. The ideal candidate will have an eye for optimizing processes and is attentive to system security concerns that require proactive consideration to reduce production vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Managing and monitoring installed development systems and infrastructure
  • Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Help ensure the high levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems
  • Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback
  • Documenting deployment processes
  • Creating infrastructure diagrams to enable clear communication and understanding of deployment infrastructure
  • Identify potential issues and implement solutions proactively, incorporating resources from architecture and management as appropriate to solicit input and ensure proper visibility of changes being made
Requirements and Skills:
  • 5 years of Linux administration experience
    • Should be comfortable in bash scripting
    • Solid experience in one additional scripting language (e.g. Ruby, Groovy, JavaScript, etc.)
    • An ability to utilize scripting to perform different actions such as automating task execution, enhancing the functionality of the parent software, performing configurations, and extracting data from data sets
  • A working knowledge of Docker with hands-on experience
  • Prior experience with VM management, and preferably VMWare
  • A thorough understanding of Kubernetes
  • An ability to work within CaaS infrastructure
  • Solid networking knowledge
  • Experience facilitating hand-offs to operations teams for deployment to stage and production environments
Preferred Requirements and Skills:
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Networking or a related subject
  • Ansible
  • Python and/or Perl
  • Experience with automation software (e.g., Puppet, cfengine, Chef)
  • Experience with Splunk

Required Skills : •Need someone with 5 - 8 years of experience in Linux Administration. No specific version just solid foundation •Scripting Language - Bash would be preferred. Any other scripting like Groovy, Ruby, JS will be a plus •Experience moving to a team/organization to a more Automated process would be a huge plus •Kubernetes/Docker experience •Background in Security would be preferred over networking background. Going to need one or the other, though •Splunk is a big plus (Ok w/ Datadog or ElasticSearch) We have interview times for Monday 8/14 and 8/15.
