Job Description:

Ensure timely acquisitions of product or service from known sources of supply. May resolve issues in the areas of requisition accuracy and completeness, on-time delivery or supplier payment functioning in a closely supervised environment.

Responsibilities:

* Obtain the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management.

* Identify manufacturing needs, identify and selects suppliers, initiate purchase orders, and arrange for delivery.

* Provide parts, equipment, services, and materials of limited scope and complexity.

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree (BA) in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

* May have limited prior industry experience or worked with direction in student internship programs.

* Certificate in Purchasing Management (CPM) preferred.

* Must have aerospace experience

* Buyer experience with commodity components/ finished goods (no raw materials)

Skills and Knowledge:

* Knowledge of key purchasing and negotiating methods, principles and concepts and general business operations.

* General knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.

* Basic understanding of continuous improvement techniques and methods.

* Ability to use standard business application software and specialized purchasing and/or materials systems (e.g. electronic data interface (EDI) or manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems).

* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

* Ability to research and analyze data and develop recommendations or resolve problems by drawing on internal information and referring to prior decisions.

* Ability to work with only general work direction and instructions regarding the scope of assignments and determine priority and order of assignments.

* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports.

* Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

* Ability to negotiate effectively to obtain the best price and terms.

* Licenciatura (BA) en Administracin de Empresas o campo relacionado, o combinacin equivalente de educacin y experiencia

* Puede tener experiencia previa limitada en la industria o haber trabajado con direccin en programas de pasantas para estudiantes.

*Preferiblemente Certificado en Gestin de Compras (CPM).

* Debe tener experiencia aeroespacial

* Experiencia del comprador con componentes bsicos/productos terminados (sin materias primas)

Habilidades y conocimientos:

* Conocimiento de mtodos, principios y conceptos clave de compra y negociacin y operaciones comerciales generales.

* Conocimiento general de requisitos legales y reglamentarios relacionados con adquisiciones.

* Comprensin bsica de tcnicas y mtodos de mejora continua.

* Capacidad para utilizar software de aplicacin empresarial estndar y sistemas especializados de compras y/o materiales (por ejemplo, interfaz de datos electrnicos (EDI) o sistemas de planificacin de recursos de fabricacin (MRP)).

* Posibilidad de calcular cifras y montos como descuentos, intereses, comisiones, proporciones y porcentajes.

* Capacidad para investigar y analizar datos y desarrollar recomendaciones o resolver problemas basndose en informacin interna y haciendo referencia a decisiones anteriores.
