The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Accounting Leader and is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and financial activities. This individual is a trusted resource providing superior customer service to both internal and external clients.

WHAT YOU'LL DO: Prepares journal entries, reviews general ledger and related financial statements for reasonableness within set deadlines Accumulates and analyzes information for the preparation of financial statements, ledgers, and reports on a monthly basis within set deadlines Prepares and/or reviews monthly bank reconciliations for bank accounts and addresses reconciling items in a timely manner Assists in preparation of annual budget and performs analysis of related data as needed Prepares month-end reports and reconciliations Prepares monthly accrual journal entries for expenses Responsible for general operation of corporate accounting system(s) Assists with preparation of audit schedules Reviews and analyzes general ledger account balances Answers inquiries from internal and external customers Verifies accuracy of accounting data, and makes recommendations for corrections Provides ad-hoc training and ongoing assistance to subordinates and new staff Write and maintain procedures manual for corporate accounting and includes design of workflow and procedures for accounting clerks Special projects as necessary Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 3+ years in a similar role Proficient with MS Office Suite Products (Outlook, Excel, Word) Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality Insurance background a plus
