Responsibilities

  • Consult with stakeholders to define technical enablement needs; this is a shared responsibility with the training team as a whole

  • Work with multiple teams, including Engineering, Product Management, SME, Sales, and Support, to consolidate knowledge elements, review, validate, and ensure training content aligns with business requirements

  • Deliver technical training to our customers, prospects, partners, and internal Qualys employees

  • Produce high-quality technical courseware - presentations, videos, labs

  • Contribute to the success of our online and self-paced training

  • Manage training events - onsite and virtual classroom via WebEx/Zoom

  • Provide product support and assist students with technical and business-related issues

  • Work with the course development team to design, develop, maintain and deliver exceptional technical training materials in multiple modalities, including eLearning, videos, labs, and instructor-led classroom training

  • Develop your skills to become a subject matter expert on flagship products you create and deliver training for, address various knowledge needs for the support organization with the prime responsibility of training customers and employees.

  • Design, build, and maintain virtual lab environments and associated lab guides to support technical training courses

  • Manage functions in the Learning Management System relevant to your job duties.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • BSc/MSc degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related engineering field

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

  • Multilingual a strong plus

  • Must have previous experience in designing and developing materials and writing assessments for technical training

  • Must have previous experience as a Technical Trainer

  • Must have experience with Cybersecurity

  • Five years of working in an IT security product such as Endpoint Protection, Vulnerability Management, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), Firewall, UTMs, Compliance solutions, Networking, etc.

  • Experienced in building complex virtual environments

  • Experience in creating/modifying custom scripts

  • Experienced in working across multiple geographic regions

  • Excellent oral presentation, written communication skills

  • Ability to execute several parallel tasks and prioritize appropriately

  • Ability to adapt to recent technologies and learn quickly.

  • 5+ years of experience in delivering training, both in-person and remotely

  • Received training certifications as Qualys Certified Specialist within the past year preferred.

  • Comprehension of Cloud platforms such as AWS EC2, Microsoft Azure, and Google Compute Platform

  • Understanding of Containers/Docker

  • Ability to adapt to recent technologies and learn quickly.

  • Must be based in Raleigh

Desirable

  • Knowledge and/or experience using Qualys products

  • Experience in certification delivery, as part of an education program

  • Ability to understand the impact of decisions on other areas of the business

  • Familiarity with external PCI scanning requirements

  • Understanding of compliance standards such as CIS, NIST, etc

  • Experienced in creating/modifying custom scripts

  • Experience with Adult learning theory

  • Experience with instructional design models

A technical presentation will be required during the interview process. Sample videos and training materials the candidate has previously created will be a plus.
