It’s our passion Position: Nurse Director Dept: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Shift: FT Days; Exempt *$10K Sign-On Bonus Eligible *Relocation Assistance Eligible Primary Purpose: Responsible for the overall direction and daily operational activities of designated department including planning, budget, personnel, quality improvement, coordinating clinical services, policy development and collaboration with physicians and administration to ensure high quality, patient-centered services. Job Summary: Responsible for effective fiscal management of multiple departments. Prepares the annual budget, incorporating Parkland and department goals. Periodically analyzes revenue and losses, revising budget, staffing, billing, facility access or other practices to accommodate cost effective findings. Responsible for drafting quality management practices in support of patient centered/patient valued services. Collaborates with Quality and Risk management staff to develop, implement and evaluate quality indicators. Acts as a leadership resource for physicians, nurse managers, faculty, staff, patients/families, executive, other departments, and employees. Responsible for a collaborative work team to ensure positive working relationships. Responsible for the condition and safety of the department facilities as measured by cleanliness, proper type, amount and functioning of equipment and overall environmental safety. Participates in hospital wide and interdisciplinary committees such as the Ethics Committee as appropriate to specialty. Minimum Specifications: MSN or DNP Degree from an accredited Professional School of Nursing. Eight (8) years of current NICU registered nurse experience. Three (3) years of Level III NICU Director experience. Experience gained within a teaching hospital is highly preferred. Certification/Registration/Licensure: Current/Valid State of TX RN License and/or temporary permit; or Current/Valid Compact State RN license, in good standing without any stipulations. Current/Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) healthcare provider completion card at the time of hire. An additional Specialty Nursing Certification is highly preferred.
